Epsom salts , all round use on livestock

Description

Battles Epsom Salts is suitable for all-round veterinary use and a high quality source of Magnesium.

Epsom Salts (also known as Magnesium Sulphate) is a clear, colourless and odourless crystalline powder which is traditionally given orally (dissolved in water) to cattle, sheep, goats, pigs, and horses which then acts as a powerful saline purgative (laxative). It can also be used as an effective electrolyte replacer for calves. Epsom Salts can also be absorbed through the skin which has shown benefits in treating swollen muscles and ligaments, bites, cuts and grazes.

Epsom Salts has a wide range of uses in the equine industry including preventing obesity, laminitis, poor general condition, nervousness, wariness, excitability and muscle tremors. This gives magnesium its reputation for having a calming influence on horses. A deficient horse is likely to have a poor tolerance to work and its muscles will tie up quite quickly. Magnesium is also known to play an important part in reducing equine obesity, and can lessen the risk of laminitis in animals that are prone to it during periods of strong spring grass growth.

Suitable for all-round veterinary use, this concentrated salt is a quality source of Magnesium also widely used as a laxative.

Battles Epsom Salts are ideal for a variety of veterinary applications. This formula contains Magnesium Sulphate, a traditional drawing agent and degreaser. Epsom Salts is also useful in hoof baths and muscle soaks, providing a soothing and invigorating effect.

Battles Epsom Salts 2kg is an essential addition to your horses veterinary kit.  Epsom salts have a long history of use for soaking the horses hoof where an abscess is present among many other uses. Adding epsom salt to warm water in a bucket and standing the affected hoof in it will help draw out infection before poulticing or between poultice changes.

An essential, everyday product for the stable yard. Magnesium plays an important part in nerve and muscle function, and horses deficient in this important element can show signs of nervousness, wariness, excitability, and muscle tremors.
